PES2008
Was a disappointment. There, I said it. After lending it from a buddy of mine, I have to say I'm completely unimpressed. Even if it was a good, enjoyable play when it's just you and a buddy, online play is about as bugged as it can get. It lags. Horribly. The lag makes it impossible to follow the opponents gameplay properly, which is essential. Other than the disappointment of online play, theres one other thing that pulls the grade down in my eyes. It's all the same. When I buy a sequal game (which I didn't this time.) I want it to be a reworked version with lots of new stuff. PES2008 misses out on that, and that makes me sad ='(. However it is enjoyable for the kind of guy who just wants better graphics. I'm not that kind of guy though.

World in Conflict.
Is my recently released favorite RTS even if its a bit unconventional, but even that comes as a bonus. If you want to know more, watch this gamespot video review. It's a very impressive game with massive multiplayer potential.

Oh my graphics.
I have finally decided on which graphics card I will be donating to myself (heh)..
The nVidia 8800Ultra.
What a thing of beauty eh? Powerful too...
Lets hope this baddie can deal with Crysis and the heaps of other DX10 games I will be forcing on it.
More specs on the card if anyone is especially interested (leave a comment...).

Crysis is what we want.
Yeah, we've all heard of it. It's one of the biggest releases of the year. Unfortunately for some of us, the specs they're asking the machine for are a bit stiff for some of us. Still, with this grim prospect of the gay lagg, lots of hypeage is thrown about. The game releases in just 3 days. I wanted to camp out overnight and get it, but mehh, I just can't be arsed. Still it's one of those games I just have to have. Whether it be day or night ;). I've played the demo and the graphics, and the gameplay, are really detailed and spectacular, just as they should be. Some might say it's been overhyped, but I predict showers of fanboys post-release :P.
One particular gameplay tick I'm wanting play out is the tweak system, seen in the trailer as "Maximum Strength, Maximum Speed" etc. I'm wondering as to how they keep realism with such extreme additions.
Anyways, enjoy the trailer:

Portal
Now, I know what you might be thinking, shouldn't I be mentioning the Orange Box before I start on Portal? To be honest, I haven't played the rest of the games in the pack. Portal has kept me busy ;).
When I started playing Portal, I was expecting just that, portals. What I hadn't expected was puzzles, momentum, and humour. That's right, Portal is funny. Infact, I just finished Portal this morning, and I sat there with a buzz wishing I hadn't finished. Thank god for bonusmaps.
It is seriously worth the little buck you put into it($20 on steam). Expect lots of funny, challenging gameplay.

Assassin's Creed
I just wanted to start the blog off with this game. Assassin's Creed, wow. If there's one game I'm waiting for, it's this one. No other game has been able to impress me as much as Assassin's Creed. The reason I like the way the game is looking right now, is because I always like free roaming. Thats right, when Grand Theft Auto came out, I was one of those people who would just do one or two missions, then run off and steal some cars for some joyriding and stunting. Assassin's Creed looks like it features this playstyle in an extremely accomplished way. We've all seen the trailers (if you haven't look to the bottom), and the house to house, peg to peg jumping system looks perfect.
If I had to put all the games I want into a list, this would be on top. Just too bad we'll have to wait until early 2008 before we'll be able to enjoy it on the PC.
